1900 Indian Cent
Struck on
Quarter Eagle
Gold Planchet
This is the famous 1900 Indian cent struck on a quarter eagle planchet.
This was listed by Pollock because there is a possibility that it
was deliberately struck for collectors. The only problem with this is that
it is not the only date known in gold. An example is also known for the
year 1907 and 3 other years for Lincoln cents.
There are at least 4 known for this year including the Beck coin and
the illustrated example from the 1993 ANA.
