Numismatics likes to help collectors find answers to their questions. We
receive between 20 and 35 requests for help each day. The only dumb question
is the question that is not asked. If you need help, just send us an email,
or write us a letter. If you are writing, please include a SASE. We regret
that we are unable to return phone calls to collectors, unless they give
us permission to call collect. If you need help, we are more than happy
to help you find the answers.

| Capital District Coin Dealers Association
(Albany, New York) -The Capital District Coin Dealers Association (CDCDA)
was formed in 1967 by a group of dedicated coin and stamp dealers in the
Capital District of Upstate, NY. It was the goal of the founders to create
an organization that would serve to promote and stimulate the hobby of
coin collecting through the establishment of a regularly held coin shows.
Today, the Capital District Coin Dealers Association (CDCDA) holds monthly
coin shows at the Polish Community Center on Washington Avenue in Albany,
NY. With over 75 dealers, the shows have become some of the largest and
longest running in the Northeast. In addition to holding regular coin shows,
it is the ongoing mission of the CDCDA to promote the hobbies of coin collecting
and stamp collecting by communicating on a regular basis with media throughout
the Capital Region. |

The
Five 0 Central Error Type Collection This is a work in process.
We are defining what we feel is a reasonable type collection for an error
collection and leaving room for expansion in any error type. For instance,
if you specialize in off-center coins you can expand by denomination and/or
date, but the type collection will only have one.

| Welcome to minterrornews.com,
bringing the latest mint error news and information to the collector. The
focus will be on articles, features and discoveries of major mint errors
(striking errors) from the United States and around the World. This website
was launched on February 4, 2003. Minterrornews.com is sponsored by Mike
Byers and ANACS.
Mike Byers (mikebyers.com)
has been a Professional Numismatist since 1978. He specializes in U.S.
and World errors, and is now the largest dealer of the world's rarest mint
errors. His new discoveries of major mint errors has been front page news
for years.
Mike Byers is also a Consultant
for ANACS for Mint Errors.
ANACS is one of the three
major grading services. They have been authenticating, certifying and encapsulating
mint errors since 1991 which is years longer than the other two grading
services combined. ANACS is highly respected in the Numismatic Community
and has extensive experience in authenticating mint errors.
The two major contributors
to minterrornews.com are Tim Bullard (errorcointrader.com) and Allan Levy
(alscoins.com). Because of their combined experience and insight of the
error coin market, they will bring valuable news and information to minterrornews.com.
We encourage collectors and
dealers to submit articles and photos of major mint errors that we may
feature on the website. |
Rich Schemmer's Site
| A new site opened today whose purpose is to spread the word to the
numismatic community about minting errors, varieties, and other items of
interest to numismatists.
Sponsored by two of the most experienced numismatic error dealers in
the country, Rich Schemmer and Fred Weinberg, and numismatist Dave Camire
of the Numismatic Conservation Service, mintnews.com has a full staff of
knowledgeable numismatists writing articles for your reading pleasure.
Plans for now are to have all in-staff writing, but eventually founder
Dave Camire would like to accept reader submissions for publication. "I
like the atmosphere of sharing information that could come from this,"
Camire said in an interview yesterday.
After a few weeks of writing and including news stories, the full impact
of the database driven site, created by web developer Charles Daughtrey,
will come to light. Users will be able to go to a search page, enter any
term they choose, hit a submit button, and all the news stories saved on
the M.I.N.T. database will be listed for reading, just like any typical
search engine. |
